FYI - HP just released a new patch to support FarPoint Spread 8.0 .com. This patch upgrades the previously supported versions of FarPoint Spread in QTP.
FarPoint Spread is a componet that helps developers to create extendable spreadsheet solutions.
To Get the FarPoint Spread Patch:
To get the FarPoint Spread 8.0 COM Patch for QuickTest Professional either request it from HP support or you can download it from http://www.joecolantonio.com/downloads

getit » Hi – if there not in my download section http://www.joecolantonio.com/download then you should check HP’s site http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/patches. If its not on HP’s site then the patches most likely have been superseded by a newer patch release.

getit » There is not any easy way except looking at a current patche’s read me. The problems is that I can’t find any of the patches that you listed – what version of QTP is this for?
In QTP 11, i ahve to automate application developed on .net framework 4.0 and using Farpoint Grids. i installed above emntioned patach but even then qtp is recognising Grid as swfobject only and i m not abel to get cell click based on column and row wise.
Its urgent. Plz reply me soon..
mnu » Sorry I have not tested any applications that use the Farpoint grid –when you spy on the grid are there any operation that you can use? Has anyone else had any experience using Fairpoint grids? IF you try recording clicking on a cell what does QTP record? I’ve seen issue’s with SelectCell and SelectRow methods being fixed by changing to ActiveCell and ActiveRow methods
Hi…whenever i will record on grid, it will be recorded as coordianted based. After much research..I am able to get value of particular cell by row/column …nt coordinate based. Record and playback wont work with FarPoint Grid. Through coding only..i ahve to extract all properties.
