Automation Guild Online Conference Top ad

Symptoms:

If you try using Service Test's data drive functionally with Excel you may receive the following error message:  ‘Specified cast is not valid’

Resolution:

To resolve the problem, obtain the latest version of Microsoft Office.  I was using Office 2000 and upgrading to Microsoft Office 2003 resolved this issue.

Actually maybe it only works on 2003 because I am using office 2k7 on a cleanly installed windows 7 32bit machine and im getting this error like crazy. What a shame.

I know how frustrating it is – the HP Service Test Product Availability Matrix (under Service Test’s help folder hpst_pam.pdf) says that Excel 2003 and 2007 are supported. Windows 7 32 and 64 bit are also listed as supported so not sure why we are having so many issues :(

Joe, I am getting the ‘specified cast is not valid’ in the LoadRunner 11.5 Analysis component when attempting to generate a Microsoft Word document. I don’t see this error in the SelfSolve section yet. Thanks for providing this site.

Bill Long » Hi Bill – not sure what would cause this on LR. Have you tried running a ‘Repair’ or re-installing Word? I’ve seen odd behavior like this when Office get corrupted.
